keeping a record

i've got a new project on the go while i wait on the upholstery for the ottoman.

this one is different for me in a few ways. first, it's being made for claire and i specifically. second, i'm using some commercial veneer.

we've long needed a place to file our papers, so i'm combining this with a record cabinet.

it's been fun working with commercial veneer. just fun to learn some new techniques.

i've been working on a small project lately, and it's starting to come together.

a little foot stool/ottoman. walnut. i will need to either get it upholstered, or get a sewing machine.

i've also got a stack of veneers ready for thicknessing, but my planer seems to like eating them too much. they are for a liquor cabinet that i've been planning.

i'm married. excellent day. sat on j-39 and married my girl.

got this cabinet done while i was at Inside Passage this spring.

eastern cherry, east indian rosewood, spalted maple, eastern maple and norway maple.
